Textile Term: Wickability

Wickability - a big fancy word that describes how fast your clothes can suck up and get rid of moisture! This is a huge deal for people who like to work out or get their sweat on outside. Who wants to be stuck with a soggy, sticky mess on their skin, right?

If you want to get all technical, high-wickability fabrics are either treated with a special moisture-wicking finish or made with fibers like polyester or nylon that already have great moisture-wicking abilities. These fabrics are designed to pull the sweat off your skin toward the surface of the fabric and let it evaporate faster, so you can stay dry and comfortable.

Wickability is not just about comfort, though. It can also help prevent skin irritation, chafing, and regulate your body temperature. When you're working up a sweat, you want your clothes to help you stay cool, not make you feel like you're melting!

If you're into fitness or outdoor activities, you should definitely be on the lookout for fabrics with high wickability. They'll make your workout or adventure much more enjoyable and help you avoid any uncomfortable or embarrassing situations.
