What is Fiberfill?
Fiberfill, also known as polyester fiberfill, is a synthetic material crafted from polyester or blended polyester fibers. It is widely used in the textile industry as a filling material in various products, such as stuffed toys, comforters, and pillows.
To make fiberfill, polyester polymers are melted into a liquid form, which is then extruded through spinnerets to create fine fibers. The fibers are then carded, which means they are separated and aligned in a uniform direction to produce a fluffy and even texture. The outcome of this process yields a material that resembles cotton batting in appearance and texture, but with more durability and resilience.
