Alfred North Whitehead

These actual occasions relate to each other through "prehensions," which are acts of feeling or grasping aspects of other actual occasions. The concept of "creativity" is the ultimate principle underlying the emergence of novelty and the ongoing advance of the universe.

Whitehead initially collaborated with Bertrand Russell on "Principia Mathematica," laying foundations for modern logic and mathematics. Later, his process philosophy profoundly influenced process theology, which reinterprets God as a dynamic, evolving participant in the universe rather than an immutable, static being.

His philosophy also carries significant ethical and aesthetic implications. By emphasizing the intrinsic value of each actual occasion and the interconnectedness of all things, Whitehead's thought promotes a holistic view of existence that values beauty, harmony, and the realization of novel possibilities.
